New release(s) dropping just in time for Winterblitz and the PPP’s upcoming Meng Jeep group build.
What’s released?
Four new printed 1/35 Jeep wheel sets and one downloadable STL set for those of you who like printing your own.
Jeep Wheel Set 1 (DS135033) – Your basic set for a wartime Jeep. Featuring 16″ combat split wheels and fresh 6×16 non-directional tread (NDT) tires.
Jeep Wheel Set 2 (DS135034) – Combat wheels, this time with worn tires. NDT tires were tough, but they didn’t stay fresh and square-shouldered for all that long in the field. This set knocks them down for a well-used look.
Jeep Wheel Set 3 (DS135036) – Civilian Jeep? Postwar farm Jeep? Throw some civilian steelies on that thing! Set 3 features civilian wheels with fresh NDT tires.
Jeep Wheel Set 4 (DS135037) – Civilian wheels combined with worn NDT tires.
Jeep Wheel Set 1 Digital Download (DS35033) – The same wheels and tires as Jeep Wheel Set 1, in a download-it-and-print-it-yourself format.
Common Features
Whatever the wheel and wear combo, all Doogs Studios Jeep wheel sets feature:
- Weighted Tires – All four ground wheels are realistically weighted. WWII-era NDTs were pretty stiff and did not sag or bulge extravagantly, so the effect is kept subtle.
- 1x Spare Tire – All Jeeps need a spare! The spare tire is not weighted.
- 1x Spare Mount – Unlike the kit spare (and most aftermarket spares), Doogs Studios Jeep sets feature a separate spare mount, giving you lots of freedom if you want to paint or weather it differently, mount the spare slightly off center, and so on.
- Front and Rear Wheels – Front and rear wheels feature different axle hub details, as well as different inner axle mount sizing.
- Rotated Tires – Front and rear wheels are rotated to avoid the copy-paste look of sidewall text in the same position.

Can these wheels be used on the Tamiya jeep?
Yes but I can’t guarantee they’ll be drop-in. I don’t have access to a Tamiya Jeep to measure the axle mounts and from the instructions, it looks like Meng is using a smaller diameter rear axle mount than Tamiya, so that’d probably have to be opened up a bit.
