What’s wrong with the kit wheels?

Nothing. They’re fine. The conical mounts Tamiya went with are somewhat floppy, but that’s more a slight annoyance.

So why do these wheels exist?

Because the kit wheels are fine. Ours are significantly thinner, feature subtle texturing, and have more accurate hub detail (front and back). Plus you get two unmounted spares that can be tossed in the bed as stowage.

The improved Doogs mount

The road wheels feature separate hubs. You can choose the hub that fits the kit mounts, sure, but if you’re also installing our suspension, you can use the improved Doogs mount hubs. These provide a much more stable, aligned fit than the slightly flop-prone kit mounts.
