What’s the Difference Between T72E1 and T72 tracks?

Glad you asked! The T72 and T72E1 are both cast steel tracks, and nearly identical. The only difference is that the E1s has three reinforced holes, intended for mounting extended grousers. That’s it.

I haven’t been able to find any evidence that said grousers were ever deployed operationally, and the only pictures I’ve found look a whole like like they come from Aberdeen.

But that doesn’t mean the E1 was rare. Far from it. Particularly in postwar use, E1s seem to be the more common steel track type in use.

Do They Fit My Chaffee?

Doogs Studios M24 tracks have been test-fitted on Tamiya, AFV Club, and Bronco M24 Chaffee kits to assure proper fit. They should fit all other brands as well, and if they don’t, those brands messed up their sprockets somewhere along the way.
