Description
The Tracks Your Big Stuart Deserves
Don’t settle for Classy Hobby’s kit tracks. Get your Stuart (or M8!) shoes that will elevate your build rather than holding it back. With our 1/16 T55E1 track set, we focused on delivering superior detail, realistic cast texturing, and an assembly experience that blows away any other Stuart tracks in any scale.
-
Authentic Cast Steel Texture: Experience the fine, gritty texture of the original track link, adding a level of realism and presence to your model that plastic kits often lack.
-
Engineered for Your Comfort: Workable tracks can be a fussy affair, and that’s even more true for the double-pin, end connector-style tracks used by the Stuart and Sherman. We’ve ditched frustrating press-fit connections that tend to snap or back out at the worst possible moments. We didn’t even consider the trap-style approach or the other half-dozen tortuous approaches out there. Our integrated pin design makes assembly a breeze, and utilizes a small dab of PVA glue (like Ammo Ultra Glue or Mod Podge) for a secure fit. This method is incredibly forgiving—if a pin snaps on a press-fit design, the track is ruined. Our system allows for minor adjustments and guarantees a solid, long-lasting connection.
-
Real Presence and Weight: 1/16 kits have a ton of presence, but when they skimp on detail they can take on a toylike appearance. These tracks give your Stuart a solid footing. Once assembled, they articulate with real, visible weight and emotional texture.

Historical Context
The Stuart Light Tank
The M3 and M5 series of light tanks, collectively known as the Stuart, were the primary US light tanks of WWII. Highly mobile and reliably armored early in the war, they served with the US, British, Free French, and numerous other Allied forces.
T55E1 vs. T16 Track
The original track for the Stuart was the T16 rubber-block track, which provided a smooth ride on roads.
The T55E1 track was a later-war design, and may have been factory standard on certain early production M5s and M5A1s. Its use in the field seems relatively rare compared to other Stuart track types, and it was more commonly found on M5 and M5A1 High-Speed Tractors. However, it can be found on some notable surviving Stuarts, including one on display at the Bastogne Barracks in, well, Bastogne.
